Plan the parts, not just the fixtures
If you're building a house with Kohler faucets and shower systems, set aside 8–10% of the total construction budget for plumbing trim—and order the spare components at the same time as the fixtures. You're not buying a fixture; you're buying the thing that will be in the wall for the next 20 years.
